For ultra-fast and safe patient monitoring in a hospital or in the field, OntoMed offers a specific Complexity Chip.

The chip is based on FPGA technology and has been developed jointly by Ontonix and SAIC in the framework of a project funded by the US Department of Defense Executive Agent for Printed Circuit Board and Interconnect Technology and the NSWC (Naval Surface Warfare Center).

Each chip may be delivered with a specific board, which includes a microprocessor that manages all data Input/Output as well the chip itself.

Our complexity monitoring chip can be integrated into mobile and hand-held devices for civilian as well as military applications.

The chip allows us to provide a real-time complexity monitor of a hospitalized patient and to rank vital signs in terms of their contribution to overall complexity. An example is illustrated below.

The variables at the top of the above chart are those that, at a given time, are the key contributors to patient complexity and may therefore be identified as the drives of the patient's state of health.
